The Tri Cities Temporary Winter Shelter operates to provide a safe, warm place for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest months. Open from January 7 to April 30, 2026, the shelter offers overnight beds, a hot evening meal, a bagged lunch to go, and access to basic supports and referrals. The program is pet friendly and is designed to reduce harm, prevent cold weather injuries, and ensure people are not left outdoors overnight during winter conditions.

To support safety and coordination, the shelter operates as a transportation based program with evening pick ups from designated locations and morning drop offs. There are no walk ups, which allows staff to manage capacity, provide consistent care, and coordinate with local service providers. The shelter is operated by Progressive Housing Society in collaboration with community partners across the Tri Cities, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting life, dignity, and community well being during winter months.
