Obituary: With great sadness, we announce the passing of Janice Dale McCuaig (née Smart) on August 13, 2025. She died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was predeceased by her parents, James Smart and Hazel McGovern. She is survived by her devoted husband Blair, her children Alanna Verbeke (Todd) and Bobby McCuaig (Jen), her brother Jamie (Bonnie) and her cherished grandchildren Cameron and Mackenzie, who were her greatest joy.
Janice dedicated her life to both family and community. She served as President of the Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary, supporting the Emergency Department, and contributed professionally as Office Manager with International Genealogical Search and as Executive Secretary for Corrections in Western Canada. She also devoted countless volunteer hours to organizations such as Meals on Wheels, New View Society, Cape Horn PAC, RCMP Crime Prevention, BC Block Parents, and Little Neighbours Preschool.
Remembered for her kindness, positivity, and radiant smile, Janice was truly an angel on earth who touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
