Obituary: August 19, 2025, the heavens opened and welcomed another Over Qualified New Angel by the name of Barbara Ann Worwood.
She fought hard even though she knew and accepted the prognosis we received at the end May but when she was called, she went peacefully. The doctors had to stop for a moment when she shared her end of life philosophy with them. "I am ok with it because we have to remember.”None of us get out of here walking but first, I have a few more things to get done so just delay this if you can until I have them done"
One of those “Have to get done" was the trip to Barkerville. Hurting the whole time but smiling all the way, off we went with Annabelle..Zach and Chance. Another was teaching granddaughter Annabelle how to make Jam. She got them both done.
She will also be greatly missed by the Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary which she headed up as a 2x President, Vice-President and Thrift Store manager which has grown so much under her leadership and those that stood by her to the end. Barbs life of Volunteering and giving started many years before her Auxiliary time going back to her time as a struggling single mom in Aldergrove where she also volunteered at the United church to her “Feeding our Future” program and being part of Christmas in January at VCC. All of these programs helped others. That was her way.
We (especially me) will miss you for a millennium. I have had the honor of spending my last 17 years with you Barb. You have not only changed my life but had a deep impact on many. Love you “TO THE MOON and BACK”. - Riun, partner.
