Here are some examples of faith formation programs Trinity has run in the past few years.

Tuesday at Trinity - Spring Series: 2008

On Tuesday evenings beginning April 22 and running through to May 24 we are offering an interesting series of programs. It all starts with a delicious, but simple meal at 6:15 pm, followed by engaging discussions beginning at 7:00.

(Childcare is available...
... and we'll even do the dishes!)

The programs in April and May 2008 are:

"Exploring Faith Questions" - Four evenings of conversation with others about faith and life. Only in small groups do we have the space to enter into a journey of discovery about our faith. We will look at central faith questions. There are no pre-requisites - only the willingness to participate and allow others to do the same.

All levels of faith maturity are welcome. This course is for everyone and of special interest to those intending to join the church, transfer membership of recommit to their baptismal vows at Pentecost (Sunday, May 27).

This program is led by Rev. Brenda Faust, at no cost to participants. 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the following dates:

April 22 - Faith... What is it? How can I talk about it?
April 29 - Experiencing God in my Life
May 6 - NO Course!
May 13 - How do I live my faith in the world?
May 20 - What is this community called church?

"Meditating on Scripture" - A time to relax and sit in silence with a short scripture passage - allow the story to unfold around you - see what words resonate with you - open yourself to what God is saying to you through this passage. This is a very old spiritual practice that is coming back to popularity because it is easier than centering prayer. However, it is still a form of silent prayer. There will be a brief sharing time at the end of each session.

This program is led by Linda Lund, and there is no costs to participants. Sessions are 45 minutes long (7-7:45 pm) on the following dates:

April 22 - Psalm 42
April 29 - Daniel 7: 9-14
May 6 - Mark 10: 46-52 - Healing of Blind Bartimaeus
May 13 - Philippians 4: 4-9

Fall 2007:   <><><><><><><>

Rap Like a Monk: What the heck is that?

Come sing a Psalm with us. This book of the Bible contains such poetic scriptures. Giving voice to the Psalms is a way to enjoy and contemplate their meaning. Most of us have probably heard and marveled at worshipful music sung in this manner - also called "chanting". It is a beautiful way to reflect on the meaning of each Psalm.

With guitar and voice, Neil Heustis leads the group through simple steps to sing the scriptures. No music background is required... just a willingness to experience something simply, beautifully, different.

Try it. You'll like it.

Monday evenings: October 15 through November 5 @ 7:30 pm
